The rural areas of TX in general probably give LA a run for it's money. I don't think it is nearly as bad when you get into the cities as far as politics and business go but maybe I'm wrong. Rural East TX is almost as bad as West TX in my experience as far as under the table deals with vendors and setting up companies in your mother in law's name

i'm curious what parts? i'm from west texas and i didn't see it that much. Maybe i was just young and naive, but shite i see out at Beaumont beats anything i've seen in West Texas.

It becomes more pay-to-play in Dallas and other big cities.
