These midweek games mean nothing, especially this early in the season. Get the young guys some experience and see what needs to be improved. I'm not worried about losing a 1 run game on the road at a small school that wanted this win a lot more than we did, especially with a freshman starting on the mound.

They mean a lot, and are a barometer for how the team will perform in the regular season vs the SEC. Even Smoke regularly beat all the LA rivals.
CPM is a disappointment as a coach. Not ready to fire him yet, but I don't like the direction this season is headed.

The only problem with that is the starters are the same as weekend games. With the exception of LF & C, Of course the pitcher is different as well.

I understand. Even though no official source anywhere has ever confirmed the consensus on this board that these games do not count, and every record-keeping body includes them in our won-lost record, apparently they do not count. We get it.
So, why do the other teams play so hard in a game that doesn't count? Why does everyone keep including these games in our record? Why did none of our championship teams ever go worse than 12-5 in midweek games against in-state opponents? I just can't understand why all these people involved are doing all this for a game that, for all purposes, did not happen.
