I wholeheartedly disagree here.

Why? There's no big game yet. No reason to be moving things around. Again, if in 3 months when there's multiple big games and more digital content and they still haven't fixed, ok. Until then, meh, there's literally not enough to fill the hard drive at this moment.

With a 500gb X1, I filled that thing up week one and have been struggling ever since. Constantly deleting and rotating files. I need cloud save. Does anyone really need it yet for the Switch?

-Dock design (hopefully that's getting fixed since it got pulled form the store)

The design is fine, it just seems like flaws in manufacturing somewhere. But yes, let's hope they fix it.

-Smart phone app for any kind of messaging (as brought up in the friends list link)

We still don't know the full scope of this, nor do we know if it is even completed. I think the approach is unique (do I use my console or my phone for all messaging and notificaitions?) I mean if you think about it, it makes sense. If they release it and I literally have to do everything through the app, yeah, that's a problem, until then...meh?

-Placement of the USB charge port.

Problem, not a big one, minor inconvenience and a requirement of the design. Nintendo, doing Nintendo things, really thinks people love portable gaming (and they do in Japan), and that playing it that way while charging is fine.

I mean, does anyone see a marathon gaming session in tabletop mode? I think they meant this more for 1-2 Switch type stuff, not for propping up Zelda for 5 hours and playing.

Fair. Mine were tough.

-The kickstand, which has been proven over and over to be unreliable if you're not in a NASA controlled environment. This isn't anything, but I did see a funny article of someone complaining about the horrible sound the kickstand makes when you retract/detract. Sounds like plastic breaking every time. Sort of a satirical complaint.

It literally does. And yes, while not the level of the CNET expose, the kickstand really should be thicker, more centered and more robust. That is bad design.

-The system underperforming while being docked. Again, points to them really pushing for this to be a portable device, and I get that's a big draw for a lot of gamers, but I have never been big on portable gaming, and if I'm going to be short changed by playing my preferred way, I'll just eventually play zelda on the Wii U, because it will be the same thing.

At the same time, it takes a lot of time for developers to get the most out of a console, or figure out how to use it best. Even comparing Ryze to Rise of the Tomb Raider is like Night and Day. This is a fair complaint though, but again, you just might not like Nintendo? I mean, I know you say you do, but they've done this since the Gamecube failed. And yes, the Gamecube basically failed as well, and is precisely why Nintendo is here, today. Gamers who like Sony and Microsoft business operations made their choice then with a similarly powered console. If the Gamecube sells 100 million, we never see the Wii or Wii U.

I'm not big on portable gaming either, only owned a DS for less than a year, and never had a 3DS. I do know that the mobile division spits out a ton of great products though, so I hope that carries over here.

-And for a portable device, it just doesn't seem that durable (scratched screens and joycon wiggles as evidence, the latter showing in that video oauron posted).

Agree on this one. I'm super worried about traveling with it. Getting screen protector, armor guards, etc. I mean, my tablet is more expensive and I bring that everywhere, but it's far less complex.

-The one joycon with the analog in the middle........i just can't see that being fun, especially with the controller being as small as it is, but I haven't personally played with it. My friend bought one so maybe I can go play around with his this weekend.

It's not something to play hours on, but it works fine for Snipperclips.
