Graduated from st pauls, aside from the multiple tools with jacked up trucks that their parents bought them, huge egoes and dickish personalities, the education is good

St. Paul's is a great school. I'm still close to my friends from SPS twenty plus years later.

St. Paul's might as well be sponsored by snap on the way they turn out tools. And that's coming from a Jesuit guy who's well aware of his school's reputation.

The night before the new MHS opened, someone spray painted anti-MHS grafitti on the school. The culprit was a SPS student who was promptly expelled from SPS. The funny thing is that he lived in MHS' school district so that was his fallback school. He ended up enrolling in a semi-shady private school just east of Hammond.

Pay the money for SPS.

I went to both a public and Catholic high school. I really believe the public school gives your kids a more real world experience. I found my private school friends were more coddled.

That being said, MHS and FHS (possibly lakeshore) are the only ones I will consider sending my kids too, and they will in fact attend one of those.

Send them to Mandeville. You don't want your boy wearing those gay little choker necklaces

I had one son graduate from St P and one there now. They both absolutely love the school.

I have a sophomore at MHS already, but No. 2 is looking at St. Paul's.

Between Mandeville High and St. Paul's, the question is NOT which school is better. The question is which school is right for your child? MHS could be right for one, SPS could be right for the other.

Without much effort, we can all tell stories of success and of failure from both schools.

More importantly, our pediatrician (from India) said her parents always required her to be doing one sport and one art ... any sport, any art (music, theater, drawing). It was one of the best pieces of advice I was ever given in raising my sons (LSMSA '02, SPS '04, '09 and '11). I'm SPS '76 ... lol.

I have nothing but positive things to say about St Paul's. Teachers/coaches that are all still there and I graduated almost 15 years ago. My best friends while I was there are still my best friends today. Great education and overall great experience.

Like others have said, there is a bond with the school that stays with you for the rest of your life. Have a ton of MHS friends that also had great experiences at MHS but none of them stayed involved with the school after they graduated.

Why St Paul? I don't think a Boarding School for troubled boys is a real good idea, unless he wants to be in the band, they fiya.
