I agree and I disagree. The team moves as its role players do

In this Lakers game, the "Other Guys" had one good quarter. In the third, Hill hit a few shots, Thompson had a few steals and tough rebounds. And in that quarter, the Pels won 28-14

Now that he isn't playing scared anymore, you kinda know what you are getting from Jrue. You know AD and Cousins will be fine. If the other guys don't play like dog dookie, the Pels will look good. If those guys play well, the Pels will look great

I mean, look at the blown lead-- that was a stretch where Hill and Cunningham were putting up bricks. Therein lies the difference

I think the two things are kind of interconnected. Chicken and egg, situation. If Jrue struggles, it puts pressure on the bench. If the bench struggles, it puts pressure on Jrue. The lack of quality guard depth just emphasizes Jrue's performance.

I guess my point was that, looking forward, when we aren't starting a ten day contract scrub who is shooting 25% from the field and 3, and Solomon Hill gets 22 minutes instead of 40, Jrue might even be able to have an off night and this team can still win.

I don't expect him to play like he did over the first 3 games ever again. But he might be a little off once in a while. No different than any other good player. But if the wing players are literally the worst in the NBA, you can't overcome that. Hopefully, we only have to deal with that for 19 more regular season games
