My wife used to be a big fan of Silverman until we saw her in a comedy show in Houston and all she did was try to provoke the crowd. It was one of the most awkward things I've ever seen. She had no jokes. It wasn't clever. All she did was call everyone dumb and rednecks and tried to be super edgy, like joking how she wished she could have an abortion every week.

Women aren't funny. It's just science.

I'm only joking a little. Women aren't good at comedy. Men aren't good at lactating. We all have our gifts. Women don't understand humor, so they go for shock value or gross out comedy. You aren't really laughing at something funny they said, you are laughing because it's so shocking to hear a woman say things like that. If a man was up there saying those things, it wouldn't be funny, just gross.

And yet women wonder why more and more men are on the sidelines. Why even risk dealing with this stuff? These are the type of women who make me afraid to date.

Amy Schumer was funny before she went off the rails

Eliza Shlesinger (sp) is funny

there are a ton of good comic actresses who don't really do standup, like kristin wig and kate mckinnon. caitilyn olsen is funny on IASIP

Vagina
Fart
Black dick
Etc

It's all the same kind of crap with women comedians.

I disagree that women can't be funny or good comedians. It is just the younger feminist stick that falls flat.

Joan Rivers and Phyllis Diller were big at stand-up comedy. Erma Bombeck, while not a stand-up act, was always a very funny guest on talk shows.

I agree. the only female comedienne that EVER made me laugh was Ellen Degeneres; I dont care for her show, her bias, but I love listening to her old stand-up routines.

None of this has any basis, factually. Words like these are why so many women resort to offensive language in comedy. There are more and more funny women appearing in comedy as our society grows out of its overbearing patriarchy
