This is why I've turned my back on the Catholic Church.
Also one big reason my cradle catholic husband has done the same.

I understand your frustration with the molestation. I don't see what the evil actions of a small percentage of humans has to do with the divinity of Christ and the value of receiving the sacraments though.

While pedophilia is something I thankfully don't understand and will never condone, the Church is actually acting like Christ by showing mercy. Obviously the Church has a responsibility to keep children safe. The sex abuse is such an evil and disgusting situation.

I don't think Jesus would approve of shuffling priests around to different parishes rather than banning them outright.

When a divorced person is less worthy of full communion than a pedophile there's a significant problem.

I agree with you about everything EXCEPT showing mercy to the pedo priests. The law is the law and priests, just like the politicians, should NOT be above the law.

This pope is very questionable. I still attend Mass every Sunday etc etc because the Catholic faith itself is not defined by man - not by a shady pope and not by pedophile priests.

Showing mercy? For whom? Showing mercy for the priests in the form of an organization-wide coverup? How about showing mercy for all of those boys who were abused and had their lives ruined by the sexual deviants under their watch.
