Is Spartacus considered a true Kubrick Movie?

I know he directed most of it, but no tall and was essentially a hired gun on this one by Douglas. Doesn't have the Kubrick writing and feel to it. I think he and Douglas also had a bit of a falling out because of creative differences.

I also think this movie drove Kubrick to loath Hollywood and move to the U.K. because NY did not have sufficient studio space...so maybe it's the most Kubrick movie of them all because it essentially gave us the Kubrick genius over the nest 40 yrs.

Why wouldn't it be? His name is listed as director.

I like it a lot more than a lot of his other work
