I got a big arse tax return this year because I bought my first home and I took out student loans and paid tuition for grad school.
And it wasn't half of what we (wife and I file jointly) paid in for 2016.

Is this true? It seems like I remember reading this somewhere but I have not been able to find a link. If someone can post a link showing the stats I would appreciate it
Perfect, I am glad that I am getting a substantial amount less on my tax return so that someone with chirrin can benefit from popping out babies. F' this country for this shite.

The Federal Income Tax is just one of scores of taxes we ALL pay. No one gets away without paying some types of taxes, either directly or indirectly.

What exactly happens to the people who don't get taxed "directly"? How does it affect them. Because, looking at it from the side it does directly harm, I could do a lot with the money the government claims as "theirs".

100% of them are Democrats.

The EITC is a decent policy because it incentivizes working.

That isn't a "refund". It is welfare called something else to avoid a stigma

While true, many people get away with not paying taxes that those who work harder must pay. This transfer of money must stop.

I did a couple of years before I got married and got a much better job. Based on my experience working in the service industry that number sounds plausible
Service industry tax fraud is probably up there with illegal immigration when it comes to the amount of money defrauded

No, that would be the sale of illegal drugs.

Good point, we need to get rid of this shite.

Doubt it. Most of the military get a refund.

That is utterly ridiculous The should have been stopped by now. Thanks spineless republicans
Funny enough, since there is an income cutoff, it is encouraging the lesser among us to breed.

20+ Years ago, I had five children and claimed Married and 9 so I could keep all of my paycheck ( I needed every penny I could get). That year, $150 was withheld and with the EIC I got $3500 back. I was amazed.
Fortunately, I moved up in the company, but lost the EIC.
