Question about switching to Playstation vue

I'm thinking about switching from Directv to playstation vue. I know these questions may sound stupid to some but I'm trying to do my research before switching. First I noticed that abc, fox, and nbc all say demand. What exactly is demand and how is it different than not demand? Also I have a ps4 hooked up to my front tv and a ps3 hooked up to my master bedroom tv, do I need have seperate accounts or can I just use one account and login into the same account on both tv's? Lastly, are there any buffering issues with it, I have 100mbs from cox so I should be fine but I'm just wondering if anyone has had issues with it.

These channels arent live and you'll have to watch them the next day or whenever they become available. My SO does not like this for The Bachelor....

You're going to hate your experience with the PS3.
1. yes, you only need 1 account. You can watch on the PS3 and PS4 at the same time.
2. You shouldn't have buffering on the PS4, but the best bet is for it to be hardwired directly to your modem (no wifi). On the PS3, you're going to have some difficulty.
3. On Demand is a library of shows that have already aired. You can't watch live TV of the big 4 networks unless they are added to your location. You can always get an Antenna to get those channels for free (if you're in range of a tower).

It means you don't get a live stream of the local ABC/Fox/NBC stations. You can stream all of their prime time shows but you won't get live local news and sports. They did add CBS in Baton Rouge a few weeks ago and are working on adding more locals. But if you need to watch the live locals besides CBS, for now you'll need an antenna.

You get up to 5 simultaneous streams with your account, so you can watch it on both. I've heard the PS3 interface is really bad/slow. I haven't tried it myself though. If you end up needing a new PS Vue box I've been really pleased with the Amazon Fire TV.

I've had a handful of pauses, nothing significant, and it happens so briefly and infrequently I can't tell you if it's the PS Vue service or my wifi.

Well my ps4 is hardwired but the ps3 is not. So that being said I would need a amazon fire tv to watch it where my ps3 is? Is the fire tv wifi?

The PS3 works, I just know from the PSVue threads when it first came out that people said it was pretty bad. Try it and see, and if it's not good enough, then look into the Fire TV. And yes, the Fire TV is wifi as are pretty much all streaming boxes.

One last question about the channels being on demand. When will the shows show up to view. Like if I have a show on say wednesdays at 7 on ABC that I like to watch when will that show be able to view? Also as far as football games, if the Saints play on fox at 12 when I can I view that game?

I think they might show up a day later, I'm honestly not sure but I don't think you get them the same day.

For now, no. Assuming you're in Baton Rouge you could watch LSU on WAFB, but until the other locals are added you don't get the local programming, just the national on demand prime time shows. That being said, they did show the SuperBowl via the FoxSportsGo app which you get access to, I don't know if that would let you catch Saints games or not. Although Sony seems to be pushing ahead with Vue, so I'm hoping they have Fox lined up by the time Football season rolls back around.

So if they don't have football by football season I could go and get a leaf antenna and watch it live?

It's ok, Yank. It's cool for guys to watch the bachelor now. You can just say "we".

Yes. Most people cutting the cord use an antenna for locals and seem to be happy with it.

Not sure if that holds up for all shows.

Just made the same switch and love it. No problems here. Looks like most shows on ABC and CBS are available right after it airs and you don't have to wait a day.

Cant you only watch from home? J

Nope. It's limited to less channels but I just watched fox sports in a different state for a blue jackets game

Some channels don't let you watch away from your home IP address. It's not many channels though. I know in the past I've seen SyFy and WAFB with the little "not available away from home" icon when I was away from home. But those are the only 2 I've seen it on and I just pulled the PS Vue app up on my phone and they don't have that icon like they have had in the past.

Theres nothing like watching true love blossom right before your eyes on live TV.

I have a Roku and PS3, I hear the interface of PS4 and fire tv are the best. How is the Apple TV? I noticed on a commercial last night that Apple TV is now available for PSVue.
I'd love a PS4, but just don't have the time to justify the purchase.
