You can set your watch to it...the "day after a baseball midweek loss meltdown"

quote:

CPM's Achilles' heel

At least the OP used the correct phraseology here. We once had a football coach named Hudson "Curley" Hallman who was quoted as saying "Our defensive backs are having a hard time...they have been our Achilles tendon all year"

I'm certainly not melting about it. Maybe a few on the board are. There was 1 problem last night: Strall.

Kiel needed to be left in to see if he could hold it together. I wonder if he would have been given another batter if Deichmann doesn't dive for no reason and give up more runs. Reynolds is usually more reliable than that and Norman and Bain pitched well. Neither should be needed for more than an inning this year. But all of these guys are veterans besides Kiel who's still a transfer with lots of college innings.

Back to Strall. As nicely as I can put it: I don't see where he fits in at all.. anywhere. And PM definitely should not have waited 4 batters to send someone to get ready. Kid couldn't get an out to save his life. On top of that, the pitch calling didn't help at all. I get he throws "hard" for a side-armer but he should still be pitching off of the slider, not fastball.
