Keep in mind not my own kids I'm an eye doctor..
But yes, removal of the eye ultimately after a full penetration of the globe infection and nothing could be done to save it.... it really sucks. Have seen a lot of other airsoft injuries over the years, of course have seen injuries from guns too so not saying all of it is safe but just make sure kids realize it's a toy that can do damage.

As many others have said, eye protection is an absolute must.
Also, my son has an H&K USP airsoft gun that is the exact dimensions and dang near weight of my real USP. It a CO2 operated one. I can speak from experience that it hurts.
