So pretty much all they have to do in that area is hike and check out the scenery?

Yeah, that's why people go there.
Magnolia Cafe is good, but it's every bit of 30 minutes from Clark Creek.
You could always continue on to Natchez...not that there's much more to do there.
This part of the country is about as appealing as an old arse.
