Appreciate the thread. I too was looking at this sight too...well...NV v.s. Thermal in General, but kept finding myself at this ATN.
And I want one for your exact reasons - hog hunting. Really, just hunting and shooting anything at night. We have a few beavers that I'd like to have some fun with.
Your pictures and video make me less apprehensive on buying one. I'll definitely be picking one up, along with some binoculars to scan with.
Question: Did you use your kill light for that hog? Or was that moon light only?

I had the kill light on but it was kinda low. With out a light it was black. I have some vids of me turning it on and off in the field too. Just need some time to get it all together. The screen also darkened up in the beginning of the vid....not sure why. There are some things I need to figure out if glitches or settings. If I take a pic the screen washes out after. It could very well be something I am doing...learning curve. But as I have said for this kind of hunting for 500 its really fun. And can use in the day time...I have vids I think of that too.
