Fake news. We have a skilled trade shortage RIGHT NOW. Robots can't plumb, install HVACS, do custom welding, wire a factory, etc. and you don't need a fricking MS in electrical engineering to do that work either.
Some folks just aren't cut out for college. The whole notion that we are all equally smart and capable of consuming as much education as we can afford is liberal, teacher union, university professor horse shite. Just walk around your city for five minutes and converse with the average man on the street and you'll see.

Believe I covered that in my post there buddy. Good luck replacing tens of millions in lost jobs with simply plumbers and HVAC.
ETA: Im a software engineer who has, for the past year been interviewing candidates for Senior Level positions. For every 1 solid senior level candidate we get 9 who are mid level at best. Its only going to get worse. Less college is not the answer to that.
