The 90s was one of the worst decades of filmmaking. Sure, there were quite a few enjoyable watched. There were very few truly Great movies

I felt like the '90s had a lot more great movies in the '80s. There were very few great movies made in the '80s. The latter half of that decade was particularly horrific. Everybody in Hollywood was trying to make the next great blockbuster after Star Wars that it killed off film-making as an artistic medium. Hollywood started to heavily accommodate their films to children because they could make a lot more money through merchandising such as clothing, books, toys and video games. They stopped gearing their films to adult consumers because there wasn't as much financial incentive to make those types of movies.

Are you kidding me? 1994 had four films alone considered among the greatest ever made (Pulp Fiction, The Shawshank Redemption, and Forrest Gump in live action; The Lion King in animation).

There are only a couple of films in discussion for that list that have been made in the last 17 years. And yet in the 90s you had four come out in the same year.

You also have films such as Goodfellas, Beauty and the Beast, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Silence of the Lambs, Unforgiven, Schindler's List, The Fugitive, Speed, Apollo 13, Braveheart, Toy Story, Fargo, Jerry Maguire, Good Will Hunting, L.A. Confidential, Titanic, Saving Private Ryan, Toy Story 2, American Beauty, The Green Mile, The Matrix, and The Sixth Sense. And those are just off the top of my head.
