Michael Jordan and NBA commissioner Adam Silver have spoken with Charles Oakley and the New York Knicks to try to reconcile the dispute between Oakley and his former team, the commissioner said in a statement released Monday evening. Frank Isola of the New York Daily News first reported the conversation had taken place. Silver, Oakley and Knicks owner James Dolan met at the league office on Monday, with Jordan calling in to the meeting via phone. "It is beyond disheartening to see situations involving members of the NBA family like the one that occurred in Madison Square Garden this past week," Silver said in the statement. "In an effort to find a path forward, New York Knicks owner Jim Dolan, Charles Oakley, and I met today at the league office, along with Michael Jordan, who participated by phone.

i can only imagine Jordan on that phone conference
he does not hold back and oakley is like his brother
the only question is who initiated this originally? silver or jordan? i'm thinking MJ

i think Silver was mastermind behind getting this in the nba's rear view mirror.

can't risk any players showing up to ASW celebrating Oakley

Pretty sure Silver initiated, and asked MJ to step in and help.

I hope somewhere in this discussion, Dolan was told how much of a count he is, and that Oakley is acting like a count as well.

knowing how MJ operates, only one person got called a count and that's Dolan

Why do Jordan and Silver feel the need to resolve this dispute between an NBA owner and a former player? What am I missing?

Charles Oakley represents the knicks fans and city of New York, glad they resolved this.

Well it makes the NBA look bad

I'll let you figure out why an owner lobbing alcoholic accusations at a former player who just scuffled with MSG security isn't a good thing.

An ex-NBA player got escorted from the arena after acting like a fool.
How exactly does it make the NBA look bad?

Nice response to a simple question.

Well I'd argue MJ has more ownership of MSG than Dolan
