I just really think we need Superman done properly.

It boggles my mind that they just have never gotten Superman right on screen. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Yes, to more modern audiences, the Big Blue BoyScout could bore some people and it might seem hokey.

But I think if done right it would be great.

Make it bright and colorful and Metropolis advanced technologically. Have Superman be a shining beacon, something to admire and respect and be awed by. Paint the screen in bright hues.

If you're doing Lex make him cunning and imposing and pulling strings behind the scenes. Not a bumbling buffoon or a little twink.

Better yet, use fricking Brainiac.

Don't have Superman let millions of people die. Don't have him brood.

Let him be better than all of us. Its ok.

You don't even have to make Lex the main antagonist. Really, for the cinematic universe, how do you pass up on Luthor being President and go right out of the gates with him being a Riddler rip off? Luthor should be a very overarching villain in the DC Universe.

I agree. Superman is a pretty easy character. Unlike Batman, he's not very complex. So what you do is make the world around him complex and that is where they have failed.

Superman Returns was boring and vanilla, so they overreacted with Man of Steel. MoS was too brutal so they tried to correct it with BvS. The subplot of BvS was one I've been hoping for for decades. How would the world react to a Superbeing showing up and saving the day all the time. Some people would hate him. Others would worship him. How would governments react to him? Would they ban him or use him as a crutch? That's a fascinating storyline that was never used before that deserves to be fleshed out. Unfortunately, it got wasted on BvS.

IMO, they need to bring back the Donner version of Superman, Williams theme and all...of course do it with someone with better screen chops than Brandon Routh.
