I buy a 20 Schick Xtreme 3 Blade for $20. Lasts me 2 weeks, or 50c a week. Acceptable shave with my barbasal can cream.
For me it's a time thing. Step out the shower, rewet my face, quickly lather, zip zip zip - one pass, towel off, and finished before your badger brush is loaded.
Have an old 1960 Gillette fat boy. About four times a year, usually on a lazy Sunday morning, I use it. 2 lathers and passes, and my face is smoother than the proverbial babies arse! Love it. But cannot spend that much time on workdays.

How much more time do you really think it takes you though?
