And golden nugget, people that weigh under 160 while still being skinny fat giving out advice on a message board make me laugh. Btw I get my nutritional info from the same sources as you and you are full of complete shite about what Lyle says. But you are right that carbs aren't the devil but they are a useless nutrient unless you are trying to build muscle.

Lol. I stopped posting in the diet thread on the FD board because its not a diet thread, its a keto thread. Lots of carb police and keto tards in there. I am not hating on keto but you can lose weight on a diet that is not keto.

That thread is a joke. So many people who have seem to have been dieting for years and make zero progress. It's like, learn to have some damn self control and stop drinking beer and cheating. Man up suck it up and just get your diet over with. That's what I did. I was fat at 205 pounds, sucked it up and shed 53 pounds in 9 months with very very minimal cheating. Basically only cheated on Thanksgiving, Christmas, a couple days on Vacation and March Madness. So me, someone who actually saw a diet all the way through, gets lectured about carbs by people who have lost 20 pounds in an entire year and making very little progress. I lost those 50 pounds by, gasp, using lean gains macros and eating at a deficit that contained many carbs on workout days. Carbs aren't poison. I just avoid sugar.

The thing is I agree with you about most people here being fat. Posters here think that I was not fat at 6 feet/205 pounds and I have to post a picture to prove it. Goes to show just how much denial people are in about being fat. I am bulking now and am at 164 pounds and already feel like a fat arse again, despite my physique looking almost the same as it did at 152. At least my lifts have gone up, 20 pounds on my bench, 25 pounds on my deadlift, 25 pounds on my squat, 20 pounds on my OHP, 10 pounds + body weight gain on my weighted chins, in the 6 weeks I have been bulking. And I have done it by eating 400g carbs on workout days.

I would agree that the FD Board was kind of pure keto. Not everyone is doing keto in there now though. and I do agree many have made zero progress but there are plenty that have lost tons. I know everyone loves to bash Hulk but he lost like 100 lbs the first time before going crazy and gaining most of it back. But he is back down quite a bit now. Same with many others there. The ones that don't make progress lie to themselves and everyone else and continue to cheat.

And you know I love lean gains. I believe its the best diet system in the world but its not for those that are severly overweight or for those that have a severe addiction to sugar. Most people that are extremely overweight have developed insulin resistance and have problems that only going low carb can correct. and almost all of them are addicted to sugar and need to break the addiction so they can look at food in a healthy way again and can do a diet like lean gains. What you don't understand is the average overweight person does not have close to the will power you have and the minute you say its ok to have carbs, they are going to ape shite and have a whole damn jar of nutella and a bag of gummie bears. They can't handle it because they still have an addiction. Once the addiction is broken they usually can slowly add back starches.

and i agree 100% that carbs aren't poison they are made out to be but honestly they are useless when cutting. They are essentially a wasted nutrient. and I also agree that you are doing the right approach to your lifting and diet but you have to understand most people are not you and do not poccess your will power.

Just to be clear we pretty much agree on diet and carbs, but I also don't hate low carb diets as they have their place. I love to use protein sparing modified fast and fat fast to drop fat quickly, but it takes extreme will power to do that and most people cant last 3 days on either.
