Robinson has been very productive lately. And having a 7-1 290lb guy in college is a huge advantage. Most college centers are. 6-8 to 6-10 the matchup is favorable nomatter what. Syracuse had a 7 footer a lot like Elbert in 03 who just took up space didn't really have good numbers but helped the team. Uga had a guy Charles Claxton in the mid 90s just like Elbert but only 265ish he made a huge difference for them. Elbert's per 36 minute avgs are like 12.5pts 8.8 Rebs and 1.8 blocks. He's a useful backup.

I would say if he ever did play 36 minutes the numbers would not play out that way. He's likely not in shape to play even 20 minutes for one thing, much less 30.
The issue has always been with Elbert is he cannot move very well, whether it be laterally, diagonally, straight north/south, whatever.
There are drills and the like to improve agility and flexibility and you can slightly improve your foot speed with others. I'm sure all have been tried. But there is only so much you can do.
And I'm sure the kid is trying, but he'll never be a consistent shot blocker because he's not a leaper nor does he move particularly well. The more he plays the more teams will isolate him in pick and roll situation and take advantage.
He has made some strides offensively, you can tell he's put some work in there. But he's not improved enough IMHO to get significant minutes. I've found him as a rebounder to be below average for someone of his size.
I think you can find a roll for him where if the other team puts a big out there who is somewhat of a plodder like Elbert and get him some minutes against those guys.
Otherwise I think most times your compromising to many other things when Elbert is out there.
