As a person who works in the tech sector, I can tell you that a lot of Americans are NOT qualified for several software development positions.
If a guy from India can come in and code for a company, and the alternative is wait for someone who is American a full 6-12 months to get up to speed, in which time the product is no longer viable...
Well, I'm not going to be opposed to getting someone from India.
Do you think, if more of these jobs offered greater salaries, and that more of these opportunities were opened up to college grads, that maybe, you'd get more Americans working for the job?
I don't think someone is going to spend their time and go through college to get offered the same low wage you are giving foreigners, especially if that means having to relocate to California where the cost of living is ridiculous. Maybe, if you put in the ground work with America's youth, and pay them well, then you will get more qualified Americans?
I get it, it's cheap high skilled labor. What business owner doesn't want that? However, if you are wanting to change the landscape of the country, and get America working again, you have to force businesses hand. Now i don't know the full details of the H-1b program, but i'm fairly certain Trump isn't calling out an all out ban on foreigners, do you?
