I always thought you could buy a family member a gun and it not be a straw purchase as long as they could have one. I have bought my dad a gun as a Christmas present, my dad bought my brother and I both Guns for Christmas and I brother bought my dad one for Christmas over the last several years. My wife also bought me one for our anniversary one year. Are these all straw purchases?

Now if I bought my brother one and he turned out to be a shite head that's still his gun and I have no right to it. The other gun I would want back but being his big brother I would just beat his arse and take back my gun.

All of that is true, the one rifle, I gave it to him, I even told the police this fact. I don't go back on that shite. I just want to do a legal transfer.
I also need to prove in court, that he had more firearms than I did.The problem is,when the police stormed the house,he was the victim on the phone.
They didn't even search to see if he had any firearms. He was actually armed better than me. I don't know if he set it all up,or it was just luck, and he moved the guns later. I was in jail.

The one thing I keep thinking about,my brother knows that I keep shitloads of life insurance, for my wife,my daughters and my Mom.
He could have very easily gotten me killed that day, I just happened to see the cops out of the kitchen window, put down my gun and walked on out.
my brother had acted like he left, but sneaked back into the house when I was downstairs in the basement.
I found out several days later, that he was in the house.
I know the truth..I think the cops now realize the truth, but they have to back their original position to avoid liability. Shitty thing.
