You're also not paying state income tax and have lower sales tax (by a decent bit depending on where you live). I'd make that trade in heartbeat.

a crippling sales tax is the worst possible solution to the problem of government revenue.
this state is so arse-backwards it defies explanation.
lower the sales tax, lower or eliminate the income tax, raise property taxes, ease obstacles to starting (and patronizing) a small business, cut spending and waste, and watch the magic happen. five more years and I am out of this joke of a state
