So is Nick Brosette the guy in 2018?

During the Miles era, the Tigers were known for having a stable of quality backs. The recruiting numbers have gotten a bit light in recent classes and we could be looking at a light depth chart after the 2017 season
2013: 0 running backs
2014: 2 running backs (Fournette, Williams)
2015: 3 running backs (Guice, Brosette, Fournette)
2016: 0 running backs
2017: 1 running back (Edwards-Hellaire)
Guice has already stated he'll go pro after 2017, Williams will graduate, Brosette likely returns for his senior season. Obviously the question is better answered a year from now once we see what RBs sign with LSU. But the off season is for discussion! Brosette was well regarded as a recruit but has had the misfortune of an injury and sitting behind 2 great backs in Fournette and Guice.

Probably a stable ala the pre fournette years. Brosette, CEH, + hopefully a beast freshman from 2018 class

I would imagine we could also go Juco as well.

I just can't see Bro being a feature back in the SEC. He doesn't appear fast enough, quick enough, or strong enough. I support him and acknowledge his courage and effort with the recovery - but the ability just doesn't seem to be there.

Depends on the '18 RB haul. I know nothing about how good or bad that could potentially be.

We have bigger problems than this. Just look at the list of 2017 Louisiana recruits and where they signed. Winning solves everything. Anything less than the college football playoffs this coming year and our slide will continue down.

Brosette will do fine imo. He isn't the same caliber as what we have had, but he isn't bad by any means. Reminds me of Charles Scott.

LSU will reload. 18 year old studs like to go to a school with the opportunity to play early. That's not happening this year. There will be a stud RB that will want to come to LSU next year. It may be an out of state kid, but we will get one or two from somewhere to slide in behind Brosette and Edwards-Hellaire).

With immediate playing time as the lure, we'll land a 5 star phenom next year!

Brossette is a great kid but far from an elite back. We need to sign a game changer or two next year for the backfield.
Interested to see how Ducre fits in Canada's scheme.

Depending on how our LB situation plays out there is always Devin White to think about. As long as the defense can do without him he is one heck of a RB.

He's done pretty well when he's been in and is a solid contributor on special teams. I think he'll make a fine utility back similar to alfred blue

Devin White is about to be an all American and first rounder at LB.
He's not switching to RB, much less his junior year (we have Guice this year).

I see this too.

Definitely think Ducre moves to the rb with Canada. We just have too many athletic te/hback types to use in his fb role and David is very fast for a big back. Could possibly be like the big back from Auburn this past season.

He's played so sparingly in his 2 years that it's hard to gauge how good he might be.
In years past, you could probably peg Brosette as the primary backup with Williams continuing in his short yardage role good for about 300 yards. That's harder to predict since we haven't seen Canada's offense in action. Canada's usage of a fullback could get Williams more involved through that role but you'd have to imagine Brosette would be the main back to spell Guice.
