So I tried plugging the Fire TV Stick directly into an HDMI port on the TV with power direct to the wall...no luck. I tried the same in the bedroom on a different TV and had the same result. Looks like my Fire TV stick is now useless.

There is a recovery mode for FireTV but you need a usb keyboard plugged into it to execute the commands.
