So my HP printer stoped working (print head error). The printer is less than 2 years old. I called the HP help desk. They remote logged into my computer(didn't like that part) and this "tech rep" promptly stateed that I have a run32dll.exe virus. He tried to sell me a "warranty". Of course I did not get it. I have run the Mcafee virus scan, MS defender scan and a Malwarebytes scan. All have come back negative. I'm pretty sure that he had no clue what's going on. I will be getting a new printer. Any suggestion on how to check if I actually have a virus?

yea you didn't talk to the "HP help desk". time to back your stuff up and wipe that drive. chances are you didnt have anything wrong with your computer other than a print driver issue but who knows what the person you gave access to you computer could have installed

Thanks. That's what I was thing of doing. Like an idiot, I let them do the remote log in. He tried to show me how my CPU was running at over 50-70%. Then I explained to him of course it is, there are 2 scans and your remote log on that's happening. Time to start over.
