I was rewatching this episode last night and damn is it good. The acting, character development, and just over all story telling is top notch. Maybe the best episode in a drama on network television ever?

Episode 1 of season 2 - the one with LL Cool J - was good too.
Show dropped off after about season 3-4.

Show was well on its way to Wire status, but completely fricked it up splitting up the initial group. Yeah it still produced fantastic episodes (Ugly might be one of the best episodes of any show of all time) but it's batting average nose dived.
