When Republican legislators specifically craft racist voter ID laws, yes.

If they are made free for those who cant afford them (which they would already need an ID for welfare), who can the action of getting an ID racist. If its access, then what if the government did a "book mobile" id center?

The only time I saw something remotely linked like this was in NC (i believe). They issued a study that showed minorities would have a harder time with ID laws and the next day legislation was made on voter ID laws. Either terrible timing or actual attempt, but either way terrible optics and got the criticism it deserved

We have that. Non-driver ID cards are free, and they'll even come pick you up if needed.

The OP is right. If ID is so difficult to obtain, why is it acceptable for the rest of that list to require ID? And congressional Democrats want to add obtaining a cell phone to the list, even though cell phones are a necessity (hence the free phone program).

I still can't figure out how a person with no ID can even exist. You can't get a job without one. You can't get welfare without one. You can't open a bank account without one. So how do you even have utilities or a house or food?
