I'm not sure why all people who like the cubs are considered bandwagon fans... wgn was broadcasted in New Orleans at least back in the 90s so most of the people I knew who grew up watching baseball are cubs fans

Do I need to get a tattoo or something to validate myself??

I'm guessing those people are saying that because you don't live in, nor are you from the area that you're a bandwagon fan. Which is actually not the definition of bandwagon.

Bandwagon is throwing your allegiance toward a team (and in some cases changing your allegiance) because a team is good. Cubs fans are the antithesis of bandwagon...though understandably there are considerably more Cubs fans now than there were five years ago. As tends to happen with every good team in every sport in the history of earth.
