I can see why Les wasn't high on him, but Canda will be able to utilize his strengths much better. He seems very similar to Melvin Gordon who Canada coached at Wisconsin. He won't be a pount it between the tackles 20 times a game like Ridley, Scott, Fournette etc. He seems more similar to a Keiland Williams.

From all appearances Orgeron recruited Etienne exactly the same as Miles. Orgeron has been the head coach for most of the season but only just offered Etienne a few weeks ago.

I do not think it was a matter of LSU not being high on Etienne. They have room for two running backs in this class. LSU, as I am sure most every other school in the country, had Akers rated higher than Etienne. LSU was legitimately in the hunt for Akers so they waited to offer Etienne until after they lost Akers.

This is the type of decision most every recruiter has to make with their class. Had LSU taken Etienne and gone for three running backs in the class, it still would have hurt the chances for Akers by having three RBs in their class.

Had the gamble to get Akers worked, few would have second guessed putting Etienne on hold. I guess he could get his feelings hurt with the late LSU offer and go to Clemson, but Clemson just offered as well.

Personally I think Etienne is enjoying the late attention. He knows LSU doesn't have any good options for their second spot at RB at this point besides him. I think he is a heavy favorite to come to LSU. I think Orgeron and Miles handled this recruitment the same way, they waited on Akers.
