Was just making a comment regarding some people that I know irl and some of the comments in this thread.....

There really are guys in the south that frown on people that drive cars. Odd bunch just like this PM kid here

I always drove a truck. Sold mine and had friends and cousins tell me they could never not drive a truck because a man just has a truck. One of those guy's wives has told me she wishes I'd teach her husband how to be handy . I have redone flooring, built sheds, built fences, etc. all while not having a truck. Borrowing, renting, or paying for a delivery is much more cost effective than owning a truck for most people. I can do a lot with a trunk, back of an SUV, or roof rack. And the 95% of the other time, I much rather my car (I drive 70+ miles a day).

Now if you own a boat or something like that. And if you truly use your bed that much, it's worth it. I just know a whole bunch of "men" who own "man trucks" who are compensating and it's just for show.
