Back when 93.7 first started in Baton Rouge they got great ratings. They had a request show in the afternoon that actually played Megadeth, Slayer, and a few other bands you never hear on the radio. They switched to 70s soft rock because the ads sold for more money, even with worse ratings. That format bombed and they went back to modern rock, though a slightly neutered version of what they were before.

I distinctly remember 93.7 starting out around 2004 or so. I was so frickin' stoked because it sounded nothing like any other station in south Louisiana.

For the first two years it was the shite.
