Makes more sense. My dad and I repaired my house post-flood, and for two men it was a good bit of work (gutting, drywall, flooring, countertops, and a nightmarish amount of painting). We'd never floated sheetrock before, so youtube was an invaluable source for that, plus several other tasks here and there. But as hard as we worked, we were taking a week to do things that an experienced crew of hombres could accomplish in a couple of hours.

Back in the days before internet, my grandfather helped my dad build his first house, and they did about as much themselves as any reasonable person could, resulting in a roughly 1100 square foot wood panel barn-style house. When it came time to add on to it, he absolutely hired that out. So, it's doable, but I couldn't imagine one adult and a few school-age kids rolling up their sleeves and literally building the kind of house in that pic.

That house was built by the worlds oldest profession if she was truly broke.
