tweets from your favorite sports stars; college and professional.

If you strongly disagree with their tweets, will it make it harder for you to root for these people?

Or

Do you completely separate the person from the product and think only of their entertainment value on the field?

Does it make a difference if they are representing your school?

Compare that to actors. Does it make a movie that they star in less enjoyable?

Yep. I think differently of athletes once they proclaim their ignorance and hypocritical bias.

You're already complaining about the potential opinions of people you don't know that you disagree with?

Snowflake. I will pray for you.

They're ignorant...nothing I can do about it.

I'll make jokes but when it comes to the game, I'm not even thinking about it.

I generally separate such things, but of course there is a line that can be crossed to where I truly think of them differently.

I doubt this Sterling stuff will change my opinions any.

I'm not liberal, or close to it, but the 'snowflake' thing is annoying as frick.

Makes me think of Tomi Lahren, the most annoying person there is

No. I have differing opinions with people I know personally and it doesn't affect my relationship with them, so I'm not going to change my opinion on a sports or movie personality over this.

Why? I watch athletes because they are really good at their sport. Not because of their beliefs

Same here, and the funny thing about it is conservatives fit the description of snowflake as much, if not more than the liberals.

I am not friends with them, we don't hang out and chat so why would I care if they have a different opinion from mine. You don't have hate or dislike someone just because they have a different opinion. If so get thicket skin so you aren't bothered by the opinion of someone who you don't know or associate with.

I just support whatever my favorite athletes support. I'll know which side I'm on after I see what they say.

Find it worse from hollywood mostly because i don't think they have ever experienced anything they are talking about. If a kid grew up in the the poorest part of New Orleans and has lived the life and is using sports to overcome his situation, then his opinion actually has some validity. He has prob seen stuff with his own eyes and lived it. Meryl Streep for example has no clue about anything. She is worth millions and has been forever. Her opinion on social issues in this country is laughable

maybe but fans also take a liking or disliking to players based on rational and irrational thoughts and reasons. to use political stances as a reason to like or dislike a player is some of the more rational reasons out there. No different than not liking Player B because he batters women in his spare time.
