This may be one of the dumbest comments I have ever read on this board. "Well he's an LSU alumni, so his failure to put his players in a position to win is fine by me."

You're reading comprehension sucks. Him being alumni matters to me and LSU people. If you don't think it matters then you have no stake in the program anyway. It's the whole reason he is here. To toss that aside and say it doesn't make a difference now is just stupid.

Quick trigger? He's been here for 5 years now and his claim to fame is blowing a 20 point lead in the first round of the NCAA tournament in his only appearance

Once again, you don't get it. Trent Johnson had two straight losing seasons (11-20 in both), he didn't get fired. He was given a 3rd year, bolted to TCU and left LSU in a shithole. Jones came back, after the University had thrown him the wolves, and took a low ball offer to rebuild the program. He hasn't had a losing season since. So yes, why the quick trigger to get rid of Jones now?

Btw, here is Jones' resume (LINK ). I believe it's pretty damn impressive and I'm glad he represents this University. That's why I don't lose my shite after every loss and try to run him out of town. But go ahead and keep running him down. I'm going to keep defending him though..

And the worst possible excuse to hire an unqualified head coach. Nick Saban isn't an Alabama alumn. Coach K isn't a Duke alumn. Skip Bertman wasn't a LSU alumn. What matters as a head coach is does your team perform well. When that answer is a resounding "no", you should be fired.

Trent Johnson won a SEC title and had LSU in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament playing toe to toe for 35 minutes with the eventual national champions. When his teams started failing, he saw the writing on the wall and left on his own.

Wow, 15 years as a head coach in Division 1 basketball and a whopping 2 NCAA tournament trips with zero wins. The guy is way in over his head and if you can't see that after the last 14 months of LSU basketball then you have no clue about basketball.

Congrats Mrs. Jones. You must be happy your hubby is fleecing LSU of all that supposed coach's pay.

John Brady took over the program in shambles with four scholarship players, and in a couple years we were in the final sixteen.
