He could have.

Maybe he thinks he's sitting on a house of cards at Western Michigan and he needs to cash in now.

Or perhaps(and this is what I believe) he is supremely confident in his ability to turn any program around. If he has this team winning 10 games a year, in 3 years he will be the hottest name in college football and will have his pick of jobs.

By the way, when people are trying to project what kind of coach has the type of attributes to challenge Saban's throne, it's the type of coach that has options but will go to Minnesota.
