Let's hope all of the news is good and 3rd parties take a look. Without 3rd parties, it will be a tough climb.

Bioware already came out and said that Andromeda won't be going to the switch.

With the machine not being powerful, Nintendo is going to AGAIN preach experience, and that translates to "the only place you can play mario and zelda" and it will be the same old.

If we run with the idea that 3rd parties won't be putting their AAA franchises like Andromeda on, I still think there are possibilities for good news:

1) Nintendo really has to put everything onto the System - That means their Mobile Catalog and their Console Catalog. This COULD work, but they have to go all in, as in no more 3DS, that means....

2) Important 3rd Party Games/Companies from 3DS land - This means Capcom, Square, Level 5 - have to continue their current support levels from the 3DS.

3) They have to figure out how to use and implement their Back Catalog well. No more single purchases, no more slow releases. Take a tip from Xbox live and give me a monthly fee system, a one or two BC games per month for free -And make sure it comes from as many systems as possible - Gameboy, Nintendo, SNES, Wii, N64, WiiU, DS, 3DS....everything.

4) Best of Mobile/Indie Gaming - They need to be getting things Firewatch, Stardew, etc. from the start. I actually don't play a lot of indie on my X1, because usually I want to play something bigger when I'm at home. If I have it on the go, I'd be far more prone to grab something like Stardew.

5) MAYBE get enough excitement for 3rd Party Developers to consider - Putting anything they put on the Vita on the Switch, to creating smaller new franchises and games that fit the console better. Gone are the days of Sega Soccer Slam (criminally underrated), the Capcom 5, Jet Force Gemini and the like. I'd love to see the creativity of the N64/Gamecube error come back. No one takes that level of a chance anymore. Maybe the development tools and ease of use can do that?

This is all pie in the sky though. We know how Nintendo looks at the market. I really hope that changes, but the only one of these that's realistic is #2 - in some weird way. No way does Nintendo come out and say the 3DS is no more. They are going to shoot themselves in the foot.
