isn't it the #1 tourist destination in the US? and probably has the highest amount of repeat customers...they must be doing something right

You are certainly bothered enough about it to start a thread on it.
I asked a simple question and waited for responses. Simple curiosity. Do you know how interwebs forums work?

Anyone that simply questions why adults with no kids want to go to Disney every year

That's like saying America is the best country in the world because we have the most fat people

This summer we're going to Mackinac Island in Michigan.
The Island is pretty small, so after seeing some sites like the Fort and biking around the Island, you may get a little bored and have nothing do but get s-faced. There's a ton of other stuff in northern Michigan if Mac Island/City are too touristy and dull for you. Mix in Sleeping Bear Dunes or something.

Yeah they appeal to kids and parents want to see their kids eyes light up. Families. Taking your late 20s girl to ride dumbo seems weird. I'd take her on an adventure she'll remember and talk about forever.

Now i wouldn't step foot in that place in the summer, but around Mardi Gras, or October-December is a good time to go
We went during the Star Wars Weekends times (end of May and early July) and while it was hot (in the mid-90s) the heat didn't bother us as we took plenty of water and there is more than ample shade.

Yeah, that's all there is to do in Disney.

A lot of Walmart millionaires in the world who think they're fancy taking pictures with Dumbo and Mickey every year. Sad, really.
One of the most underrated posters on the OT. Every time I see him he's bringing the goods.

I don't get it either. I went when I was 23 with my now wife and her parents/siblings. Aside from Hollywood Studios and the waterparks, I really thought it was overrated. Roller coasters and rides IMO are better at Six Flags. I WAS impressed with the overall production of everything. Also wanted to go to Universal, but never got the chance. Knew a couple in their 30s (no kids) went there on their honeymoon. Weird as frick.

No one said there aren't some weirdos that go apeshit over Disney. I'm willing to bet there are way more actual dangerous human beings visiting other places in the world on a daily basis. These Disney folks aren't hurting anyone.

Every place I've ever been where I see honeymooners, some portion of them are wearing stupid tacky shite. It isn't a Disney thing, it's a fricking weirdo's on honeymoon thing

We used to go to places like Williamsburg every year (Veterans Day) and drop roughly the same once all is said and done.
This is what convinces me not to go to Disney. If I can pay for lodging, flights, food, and drink in a cool city for the same price as Disney or a gulf coast beach, I'm not choosing the latter two.
I'd go to Disney if I was in the area for whatever reason. It just won't be a special trip. And Disney for a honeymoon sounds like the least sexy honeymoon I can imagine.

If you didn't see it to begin with, then you are already biased and your shitty thread won't change anything.
There are things for adults to do at Disney. Great golf, great restaurants, shopping, rides that aren't suitable for kids under 10 and shows. But if you didn't try to find that out before hand, that means you didn't give a shite in the first place.
I don't get the obsession with getting shitfaced at at 10 in the morning before a game or going to a bar to get hammered. I'm fine with a few beers and hanging with friends, but if that's what you want then fine. Where is the issue if I see all the things disney has to offer instead of being a whiny bitch about it and complaining when other people enjoy it?
Can't wait for this thread again in a few months
