Yeah I'm all about that action.
My only point here is that while we give turkey stuff, we use their airbase and airspace, and real estate to fight wars around the world.
There are certain parasitic nations that provide none of these benefits on meaningful scale.

How many billions have we paid in return for this "favor"?

Who the frick are you quoting?
Why don't you go fetch some information for the thread like I did.

A U.S. airbase is a huge financial boon to these shite countries. They are letting us use a piece of land. We pay for everything, plus pay them for its use, plus provide many direct and indirect jobs, plus protect them.
It's definitely good for us, but my response would be they should be careful what they wish for.
I'm not real comfortable with have nukes there, tbh.
We could just vacate the base and park an aircraft carrier or 6 right on their coast and say frick off.
It's definitely good for us, but my response would be they should be careful what they wish for.

Yep. I'm not saying the turkish government is some kind of charity here. I'm saying we get tangible benefit from the arrangement with them.

Can't land cargo planes on an AC carrier. I'm not sure you realize the scope and scale of injurlik airbase. Its massively important. You aren't replacing it with ac carriers.
I'm all about near total withdrawal, but I just want you to understand that we aren't replacing a land airbase with ac carriers.

Turkey is too geographically strategic to just leave.

As long as we have such an idiotic foreign policy this is absolutely true. People are not grasping how much we do, and how many places we do it in.

A carrier doesn't need cargo planes. And for air ops, a carrier or two would do just fine.
