It's time to abolish the CIA, NSA and FBI and create some kind of National Alliance Party that takes over those duties.

Love it. In fact, just get rid of it. You can ditch the DHS while you're at it.

Wow. He is trying to weaken America. I thought it was all just a bunch of bull hysteria. If he weakens our national defenses, he should be called to account.

Any way to access full article or give some more detailed quotes?

Scaling down powers of the director doesn't necessarily mean he would be weakening our national intelligence gathering capabilities. Could it simply mean more checks and balances among the intelligence communities?

It's obvious Trump has no respect for our institutions. The CIA/FBI have been responsible for preventing hundreds of terrorist attacks, we just don't hear about them. And now Trump wants to cripple their ability?

The Intelligence community should not be done away with. How they have been used..... SHOULD be corrected.

Get rid of the DHS, DEA, IRS, EPA, HUD, BLM, put all of them on the border working security.

quote:

Mr. Trump shares the view of Lt. Gen. Flynn and Mr. Pompeo that the intelligence community’s position that Russians tried to help his campaign is an attempt to undermine his victory or say he didn’t win, the official close to the transition said.

Mr. Flynn will lead the White House’s National Security Council, giving him broad influence in military and intelligence decisions throughout the government. He is also a believer in rotating senior intelligence agencies into the field and reducing headquarters staff.

Current and former intelligence and law-enforcement officials have reacted with a mix of bafflement and outrage to Mr. Trump’s continuing series of jabs at U.S. spies.

“They are furious about it,” said one former senior intelligence official, adding that a retinue of senior officials who thought they would be staying on in a Hillary Clinton administration now are re-evaluating their plans following Mr. Trump’s election.

So did this senior official just admit (inadvertently) it is politicized?
