Crime's not that bad in downtown east anymore. There have been several new residential complexes opened there in recent years, a friend of mine lived in the Corona for a while. Rent was great and never had an issue.

The centerpiece of Downtown East's gentrification effort is the BR/NOLA train station. There are tons of plans to redevelop the Entergy property as the station and surrounding properties as mixed use and new residential.

Good to hear about the Corona Apts. I didn't know about them.
It's the old Olinde's building.

I bought a tv there way back when.

Glad to hear your friend had a good experience there. It's not too far from Sacred Heart Church and the old CYO I use to play in.
