But what about the press? Lives and careers can be ruined by vindictive people. I just don't see any benefit to this technology, at least not enough to counterbalance the harm it can do.

We aren't in disagreement. Simply pointing out the only 'pro' I can think of, even though it's a 'con' when u need that for true justice

This technology only raises the standard of proof. Photoshopped pictures didn't suddenly cause people to lose their careers and lives did it?

You can probably Google "Hillary Clinton nude" (not recommended) and see photo evidence of her entangled in all sorts of naked shenanigans. Obama's birth certificate didn't suddenly read "Kenya", did it?

The people more likely to lose their careers are the ones who produce fake evidence. How relevant are Brian Williams and Dan Rather now?

Knowing this technology exists, if a recording is suddenly "found" of Ted Cruz's dad saying "I killed JFK", how likely is it that it will be accepted as proof?
