I wanted to ask your answer but forgot lol.

Wish I had about 7 deer to shoot with each one...you know...for research

I am hunting with a bolt gun this time...the reason for most of these were to see if they cycled in my sig ar10. Some of them had cycling issues.

using this

The round I was thinking of is one of my favorites: Federal Premium loaded with the 165 Sierra Game Kings are awesome

In addition, I'm generally a big proponent of the solid copper rounds, specifically the Hornady GMX and Barnes TSX. Hopefully Freedom Group doesn't ruin Barnes like they did everything else

I'd be very comfortable hunting with any of those 3.

There's a physician in WV who hunts nearly exclusively w/ handguns. He normally kills >50 deer/year. He's killed >500 deer w/ handguns. The vast majority of his kills are made using crop damage permits (usually Christmas trees). Most of his handgun kills are w/ "specialty handguns" like the Thompson Center Contender, Thompson Center Encore and Remington XP-100. He used to publish an annual write up of his kills and bullet performance, but the publication closed shop a few month ago. I typically get to kill 2-4 deer/year and have started using different bullets w/ each kill.
