You can some real money doing this, but its not just playing in a live setting. It takes patience and knowing how to limit your risk.. Which I think is the trap a lot of people fall into. They get to a point where after a while.. if they haven't had "much action" they start trying to force something to happen.
But if someone decides they are going to go play.. 2 or 3 nights a week.. Decide to start playing that evening and play through the night (don't set a certain time in your head that you expect to stop playing by).. if you are seriously playing for profit, you can make a nice profit.
As for as playing in a live setting, I think that is the biggest fear people have initially, but you have to just go in and play several hands, get a feel of the environment and you will get more comfortable, quicker than a person would imagine..

I went back to the table at Harrah's after a 5 year absence and did well. Had some rustiness but overall played ok
