re: Coach O's wins looking a lot less impressive

I think LSU's schedule next year is just fine. Bama and Florida on the road are 2 games we could lose but hey 10-2 would work with a Sugar Bowl victory. 11-2 sign me up.
Also watch some of those UAA game practices and tell me Brennen is not gonna be something special. Kid has the IT factor and LSU hasn't had a QB like this since Hodson or Bert Jones maybe.
Look O is the coach. It's done so you guys need to quit bitching and deal with it. Give the man a chance, ask him to fix you a bowl of gumbo and enjoy the ride. I mean shite if Guice runs the right way we're playing OU in the Sugar Bowl. Still we're playing Louisville with the Hiesman winner. So RELAX

No. And two of those come back. Maybe 3.

What excuse will you guys cone up with when LSU beats Louisville handily?
We already know what the narrative will be win or lose.
LSU wins, "OMG, look how O has this team playing, Frick Les Miles!"
LSU struggles or loses "man, this one's on the players, Les Miles, refs"
O is a genius in one respect; he knows that he has a built-in excuse; if he has no expertise in any aspect of the game some will never blame him for anything.

Has Orgeron had 12 years here to fix the same problems that were evident from year 1??
The guy literally just got the full time job. Ridiculous comparison.

His wins as IHC always looked unimpressive to anyone that bothered to look. At UCS and LSU he has a grand total of 1 quality win.

It was nice when this board wasn't the insecure LSU fan board for a few weeks.

Well C what would you suggest we do baw? Keep bitching and moaning about what could have been, or wait start a recall petition to have him removed. Come on bruh the floor is yours ole baw, let's here some solutions and options instead of just accepting the fact that he's the coach and seeing what he does. But please tell me what you wanna do

Only to Coach O sycophants and complete morons

Would sign.
Otherwise you think the bitching is going to stop anytime soon? We're still bitching about coaches from 30+ years ago.

none of us are in a postions to enact "solutions" so this is a silly request. Part of being a fan is we get to express our opinions and many of us fell (know) this was not a good hire and will say so when the discussion is warranted until such time as Coach O proves us wrong by winning the SEC and making the playoff or he;s fired and a new coach is brought in, whichever comes first.

Yeah, I would have to say right now this team is more impressive than next years. Now maybe some other recruits come in that are just as talented but that is to be seen. So yes, right now this years team is more talented than next year.
LF is a once in a generation player for LSU and I don't see another like him on the roster, even if Guice is as good next year I don't think Brossette is as good as Guice this year.
Adams I think is gone, add in Beckwith and others then no I do not think next years team will be as talented.

There's nothing positive that will be received by the posters in this thread. These are clearly the folks just set on bitching about Orgeron for whatever reason. No doubt they're the same people who root for LSU to lose so they can be right. Truly a special bunch of people lol

The reason I'm bitching about him is his record as aHC is terrible and nothing leads me to believe he could win a championship.

No, this is just a stupid strawman for people that don't want to hear criticism. Most of us would love nothing more than to be wrong

My only complaint about O is I do not think he can produce a better record than 10-2 (at his best) and once the coordinators leave LSU is fricked. If I am wrong fine, but this is a gut feeling. Mainly based on studies have shown replacement coaches have had an immediate impact but failed to have sustained success. Coach O lost 2 games at USC and LSU in a short span, over the course of a season that is still a 3-4 loss team.
I really believe if LSU has a good year offensively and defensively next year both Aranda and Canada are gone, even if that means an 11-2 season for LSU. Then what? You have to start over and hope you hit a homerun hire on coordinators again.

i pretty much agree with all of this.

It could be argued we broke their backs, but either way, judging a team or a coach on what their losing opponents do is a real stretch.

Then those folks suck too. My point is let's criticize when it's been earned. I think it's ridiculous to continue bitching and crying bc what you fear is gonna happen may eventually happen. How about give the guy a full season and signing class?? Can we do that??? Les got 12 years. I think it's fair to expect any coach be given a year to see how things are progressing. But that's just me.

quote:I mean we have his history at Ole Miss and what transpired under LSU in the 7 games he was the coach. So obviously we have something to go by, even when you include the USC stuff.

quote:He also was above and beyond one of the best coaches in the SEC over 10 of those years.... Coach O has had a chance in the SEC and failed, granted he may have changed but still going by what we've seen so far and in the past the criticism is to be expected.

I mean shite Les was ridiculed from the moment he was hired till he was fired, many waited 12 years just to say, "I told you so."
