So I admittedly neglected this rifle by leaving it in a connex box at the camp for the last couple of years. I know, shame on me. I have other rifles and just wasn't using this one anymore. well last time I was up there I was disappointed in its current condition and decided to give it a little love.

the barrel and metal components had a lot of surface rust so I took it completely apart and sent it into my blast cabinet to strip the rust and coatings on all the metal parts, as well as the synthetic stock to clean it up as well.

I used duracoat aerosol spray (foliage green, flat dark earth and olive drab). my first time with this product as in the past I have previously used cerakote on a few of my other firearms and some for a couple of friends as well. I was extremely impressed with the ease of use with this product and would recommend to anyone who is a do it yourselfer.

anyways here are the results. I'm actually excited to get this thing back in the stand and draw some blood with it.

anyways, just thought id share as I haven't been on here in quite some time

What did you do about the rust inside the barrel?

My absolute favoring hunting rifle. My A-bolt has the smoothest action of any rifle I've ever held. It shoots straight and it's sexy.
