He was being a father, not a hero. He shouldn't be fearful of his life over a volume request.

I dont think they just stabbed him for requesting they turn down their music.
It sounds like an altercation ensued. That altercation lead to his stabbing. So lets not assume ole boy said "please turn down your music" and got stabbed in the neck.
