The pole, or red stick that was planted in the ground was located very near to where Southern is now. It was about 30' tall.

My dad grew up on Christian St. and it has always been a mixed area. I still have the old house. Been in the family since 1936. Eden Park area has been black since the 50's also. East Blvd. use to have a lot of Italian business's. My dad said you started seeing a lot of light skinned blacks back in the day. Make your own connection.
