Bump..

I'm not the OP but I finally made the transition from EJ to Vanguard. It was a transfer-in-kind, so now I have my shares of four different American Funds Class C mutual funds sitting in my Vanguard account. I want to exchange them all for a target date retirement fund for now (VFFVX).

For those who have made the switch, is it as simple as clicking "Exchange" on the balances and holdings page? Or do I need to click "sell" and buy the target date fund with cash? How long does the entire process take? Sorry for the basic questions.. first time doing this myself. TIA

Click on exchange. I use that when I need to rebalance my IRA with Vanguard. The transaction is done at the end of the business day using the closing prices for those funds on that day.
